Stamp Identifier: AI Picture (“the App”, “we”, “us”) helps collectors analyze postage stamps using artificial intelligence. Protecting your privacy is a top priority. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Photos You Provide
When you request an AI evaluation, the App compresses the photo on your device and sends it to OpenAI’s API for analysis. We do not store copies of the image on our servers; however, OpenAI processes the photo to generate the appraisal.
Scan Metadata
Details returned by the AI (stamp name, valuation range, notes) are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This lets you revisit past scans and maintain your collection. We do not sync this data to cloud services.
Usage Metrics
The App does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs, ad networks, or crash reporters that collect personal data.
How We Use Your Information
- To generate detailed stamp evaluations via the OpenAI API.
- To display your scan history and saved collection entries on the device.
- To trigger optional App Store review prompts after repeated positive usage.
- To respond to feedback when you contact us directly.
Data Sharing
We share photo data only with OpenAI for the sole purpose of providing AI-powered identification and valuation. No other third parties receive your content or metadata.

Retention
Local scan history remains on your device until you delete it through the App or uninstall the App entirely. Photos sent to OpenAI are subject to OpenAI’s data retention policies; refer to OpenAI’s Privacy Policy for details.
Your Choices
- Delete Scans: Use the in-app delete controls to remove individual scans or clear your collection.
- Revoke Camera/Photo Access: Manage permissions via iOS Settings > Privacy > Camera / Photos.
- Request Data Removal: Email rowan17@thelifter.app with your device details, and we will guide you through clearing local data.
Children’s Privacy
Stamp Identifier: AI Picture is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us so we can remove it.
Security
We rely on iOS sandboxing and secure HTTPS connections to protect photo uploads and responses. No authentication tokens or API keys are bundled inside the app binary; they are injected at build time through environment configuration.
International Transfers
OpenAI may process data on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to these transfers.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product improvements or regulatory requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, when feasible, notify users in-app.
